Ridiculously stoked to announce that Margaret River Discovery Co has been awarded Best Tour Operator at the WA Tourism Awards 2024!
I remember starting this business 17 years ago, with a bit of dream to reimagine what a wine tour could be.
That big dream proved in the initial stages to be a big nightmare trying to get anyone to actually do it. An even bigger nightmare trying to get anyone to believe that a wine tour could be an adventure filled experience making the science of ecology, geology and climate into something engaging and instagrammable.
A looooong hard slog would be an understatement.
I’m proud to have introduced thousands of guests to why Margaret River wines are so ridiculously good and why this region is the most consistent wine region on the planet. And I’ve had a bunch of fun having a crack at reimagining a wine tour experience.
I just absolutely bloody love doing it!
Thank you WA tourism industry. And a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the amazing guests, local community, and partners who make it all possible. I couldn’t do this without your support!

ps- Fourteen years since I last entered the tourism awards, and wore the tux and shiny shoes winning the Golden Guide Award.
Turns out the shoe glue doesn’t last 14 years
