I had one of my guests tell me yesterday I need to make more of a fuss about having a luxury 4WD for the tour.
Apparently he was expecting an old musty rusty bus and dreading car sickness.
He’s probably right. There’s barely a reference to it on my website π.
Thinking about it, it’s a pretty significant feature of the overall experience. A super safe and ridiculously comfortable vehicle to spend the day in. Especially on a road like Caves Rd with high speed bends, kangaroos and distracted tourist drivers playing life lotto.
Starting to really love the safety and comfort features of the new Discovery 5 π. I still think it looks a bit soccer-mum-ish but a set of roof racks and the new decals have beefed up the look.
Overall the car is one of the most capable 4WD vehicles ever built. Then only downside seems to be the comfort is so luxury that my guests no longer realise the difficulty of the terrain we traverse. At one point in the day we are on two wheels and no one blinks or winces. I doubt anyone even realises besides me. Impressive stuff. Good luck doing that in a Jeep π.
